Every year over a million students aged 14 - 19 in 150 countries take Cambridge international qualifi-cations, through a network of more than 6,000 Cambridge schools.

Carey College is privileged to be one of those schools.  We bench-mark our Primary and Junior College courses against the Cambridge Curriculum, confirm our standards with CIE Acheivement tests and Checkpoint, and prepare our Senior College students for IGCSE, A Levels, and the AICE Diploma.
The Cambridge International Primary Programme supports the teaching of the biblical curriculum we have developed at Carey College.  It gives us a framework against which we benchmark our teaching of numeracy, literacy and science skills and knowledge in Primary classes, and helps teachers assess children’s learning as they progress, providing guidance for ongoing curriculum development.
The Cambridge International Curriculum is based on a set of common principles underpinned by the best educational and assessment practice. It is international in its outlook and commitment.  It is based on: • Quality and coherence delivered through the curriculum; • Guaranteed assessment standards; • High quality resources; • Training and professional development
The Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme provides a framework for success for students approximately 11 - 14 years. It builds on the primary stage, and in a similar way provides a benchmark for our teaching of knowledge and skills in Carey College courses in Mathematics, English and Science.
Cambridge Checkpoint tests during the Lower Secondary Programme provide detailed feedback on students’ strengths and weaknesses, before they move into the 14 - 16 external assessment stage, including Cambridge IGCSE.  Checkpoint helps teachers assess student progress and learning needs, and provides students with a respected certificate and detail report on their streengths.
Cambridge IGCSE Level gives students excellent preparation for their next steps in education, including progression to Cambridge International A and AS Level. Cambridge IGCSE is recognised and accepted by universities and employers worldwide. It is popular with students because they are flexible qualifications that develop problemsolving, investigative and practical skills. Cambridge IGCSE is the world’s most popular international qualification for 14 - 16 year olds, available in a very wide range of subjects.
Cambridge International A/AS Level allows tens of thousands of students every year to win places at top universities worldwide. It is a stimulating, flexible course of study that gives students the freedom to select the mix of subjects right for them.  Taught within our Carey College biblical curriculum, our students have gained entry to universities in New Zealand and around the world with top A Level results.
An Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) Diploma is a prestigious award that is recognised and valued by colleges and universities, many of which are now offering advanced standing and academic credit for AICE examinations passed.  Carey College students are encouraged to plan a balanced A /AS Levels course which will enable them to gain an AICE Diploma at the same time as they qualify for their A Level Certificate, thus gaining a double award thorugh their year 12 & 13 studies.

Designed to introduce children aged 5 to 15 to the world of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Cambridge ICT Starters provide a framework in which practical ICT skills can be acquired and developed, in an environment tailored to a particular age group and surroundings.  Carey College students begin their ICT Starters courses in Junior Primary, continue them in Senior Primary, and complete them in Junior Secondary.

The Cambridge Primary Progression Tests are used selectively at the end of the school year to assess students' progress, strengths and needs, and to guide future teaching .  Parents receive the same detailed analytical report as teachers.  At the end of the Primary Programme student achievement is assessed with the Cambridge International Primary Achievement Test and students are awarded the valued Primary Certificate of Achievement by CIE.
