helping parents nurture children in excellence and truth for Christ

We have limited resources and at present we are not able to provide active support for distance learning.

That means that, as much as we would like to, we cannot give you advice, we cannot supply curriculum materials, and we cannot respond to emails and phone messages about home schooling.

Some home-schooling support oraganisations mistakenly still list us as offering active support.

But we want that to change! Please pray that in the future we can resume practical and effective support for home schooling families.

Meanwhile, the help outlined on the left is available now.

We do not have the resources to actively support distance learning.

At Carey College we believe God has made parents responsible for the nurture and education of their children. It follows that we therefore support the right of parents to choose to home school their children. For more than 15 years we provided active guidance for home schooling families and enrolled many distance learning students. While we have not been able to maintain that service, we continue to support Christian families in the education of their children in many ways, including the following:

•	Free Lesson Plans Any lesson plans published on this site or on our old website are free for non-commercial use (subject to the Open Source License)
•	Acces to Cambridge Exams We accept limited numbers of applications for external students to sit CIE examinations at Carey College. Please read page 11 in the Carey College Cambridge Guide for details.
•	Parliamentary Support We regularly make submissions to parliament on educational issues, and consistently support the prior right of parents to choose the type of education given their children, including home education.
•	Live Video Lessons We are experimenting with live video lessons in which distance learning students join our classes for selected courses. These trials are progressing encouragingly, but we are not presently open to applications to join such courses. Perhaps some time in the future! Watch this space.
